Family Fostering

Dr Matt Orr has been our medical advisor for our agency, AFA Fostering, for a number of years, with him starting to work with us in July 2013.

Matt is knowledgeable in the field and as well as completing reports, has been able to provide an overview of his role for our fostering panel and also assisted us in providing guidance on medication to our Foster Parents.

Matt is very friendly and approachable and open to discussing any issues that may arise. All of his work is completed to a high standard and gives us a fair reflection of the family and their medical situation. He will seek clarification of information where required. He will also highlight issues that require further exploration in assessment/discussion.

Matt always completes work in a timely way and keeps us updated on his availability, for instance if he will be on leave.

I have in the past and would continue to recommend Matt in his work as medical advisor. We have been very happy with the support he has offered our agency.

Pembrokeshire County Council’s Fostering Service has been working with Dr Matt Orr since 2014 and over this period of time an extremely good working relationship has developed between Dr Orr and the Fostering Admin team. Dr Orr provides Independent medical reports to support foster carer applications when they are presented to the Fostering Panel. Following our initial requests, Dr Orr returns his completed reports within a few days, and is extremely helpful if we have to request an urgent turn around, and will usually returns the reports to us the same day. Dr Orr is very approachable and will make himself available to speak to social workers to answer any concerns or queries they may have.
